Don’t nail your need on Jesus Christ,
imagining he knows it all.
He never spoke to answer you.
He only speaks to prompt you to
attend the seedling in your soul.
Don’t beg the Lord with moans and groans
to save you from your own pursuit.
To make of him the mouth of truth,
some co-eternal know-it-all
who drives his Father up the wall.
